What would someone consider a fair price on a very nice, low hours, 285CD. This saw was upgraded with a 2100 cylinder and fuel tank, owner wanted a manual oiler for long bars. The current owners wants $200 for it, I have no clue weather it is a good deal or not.

That's a great deal imo. A sorta rough looking stock 285 went for nearly 200 on ebay about a week ago. If decide not to get it let me know:)

Which one??

I have also found a nice looking SXL 925 Homelite for $250. I want a larger cc saw but which one would be the better?

the homelite is a good old saw, but has no antivibe system, so my choice would be the husky since it does have antivibe, and is also a more refined saw in my opinion, (50 bucks cheaper too).

The husky would be my choice of the two and that is a very good deal on it imo.
