I've heard from a good source that this new saw is being recalled due to bad burs operators are getting fromthe exhaust.

Anyone else here this?

I could not find anything on the internet.

I talked to Husky tech support. The saws were recalled to the US distribution center. Sweden was sending a ceramic heat shield to be installed.

Dozer Dan just received mine and is working his magic on it. I don't know whether it has the mod or not.

I disassembled your 338 and the only odd thing that I found was their new automatic decompression valve.There is no ceramic heat shield to be found.By any chance did they tell you its location?

Maybe that saw never got back to the warehouse for the fix.

please call Husky tech support...Have them send you the correct fix... especially if you think that, even with your muffler mods, my hand will get heated up.

Don't worry,I will be on the phone first thing in the morning.
They told me that is why the saws were not shipped out in the first place.It looks like they didn't do anything to them except shipped them out.
Heated handles cost extra with most saws.
