I can't immagine that would be "common" or disregarded by Husky since a safety hazard. I would guess the o-ring isn't seated or got damaged.

Rich, mine doesn't leak a drop. Take the O ring out and clean under it. Check especially that it doesnt have a partial twist. The mold line on a lot of o rings will sometimes cause a small leak if it spirals across the seal surfaces.

my old 372 (R.I.P) never had any leaks and my 365 is tight too. Check for any scratches where the oring seals against the body. The scratch would have to be pretty good size on the body for it to leak.

My caps don't leak but I had a leaky tank vent. My dealer said they had a bunch come thu that were loose, cock-eyed or just plain missing.

Marky, I realised afterward that I could be considered touching on a sensitive area. Netree, I will be more careful.

When the weather is cold leaks seem to be more of a problem; guess the ribber is not as pliant and doesnt take much crud to hold off the o ring a bit.

Take some calipers and see if the tank is warped where the cap goes.
