This is my first post but not my first visit by any means. There is a ton of info here that is great. Well for starters I have a Husky 61 that does not lock the chainbrake in the brake position. I took it apart and found the spring that is pressed into the housing ( part # 501 87 47-01) was broken. I know this part is going to have to be replaced but was really wondering once the part is here how does the brake handle slip back together. With the new spring in place on the housing does the handle just slip into place or do the springs have to ride in specific places. While I'm here I've got 3 husky saws altogether that I'm gonna do the muffler mods on : a 365 special, the 61, and a 55 rancher, When doing the mods do you drill the holes through the baffles on mufflers that have them or just through the outer case. The 365 is just a case anyway but the 61 and 55 rancher both have baffles. Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

My 61 is an 85 vintage and is still my favorite saw,due to the way it runs after I modded the muffler and punched out a few holes on the air filter cover.I added a 7/16 hole all the way through the muffler and Added some holes to the air filter cover and epoxied some brass screen to keep chips out.It rips well and sounds great:rock:
