Does anyone know if you can pull the plastic mixture limiters off of the mixture screws of the Husky 353? The reason I ask is so I can retune, then reinstall the limiters keep the screws from vibrating out of tune?

Limiter caps

You would be better to take a dremel tool and grind the ears off the plastic limiter caps that stop them from making full turns. If you take them off, the screws could come out of adjustment and they are harder to adjust because the caps have larger screwdriver slots than the actual screws.

I thought about that but then wondered if I could simply pull off the limiter caps, adjust the mixture where I wanted it, then reinstall them. I'm concerned that if I dremel off the ears, they may still turn from vibration - again, I haven't done this before so I'll ask the experts. The screws seem to have a fair amount of spring tension on them, so it could be likely that they won't spin after dremeling off the ears.

RJSquirrel, I respectfully disagree with you. This is based on actual experience from experimentation of different ways of doing it on 2152s, which are the same design.

Bob1, Your thoughts are O.K.; remove the limiters, make the adjustments, then replace the stock limiter caps with your new cap position so that it can move slightly from plus to minus from your chosen midpoint.

Again, I do not mean to take a shot at Squirrel on this, just a gentlemanly difference of opinion.

Rocky - my husky does have springs under the screws along with limiter caps/plastic ears.
