I just picked up a model 51 Husky, someone was throwing it away. It seems all intact, no oil leaks, and pulls through. I haven't started investigating it any further just yet. How are these saws, any good? Worth fixing?

The 51 is a perfectly good 50cc saw, when it is in order - but I wouldn't spend lots of money refurbishing one.....

How much should I put into saw$$$ wise?...how old is this saw? I don't wanna spend too much, if I can get a repacement for the same that it costs to fix, if you know what I mean...

Husky 51, a bit heavy for its power, but an OK design, originating from the Partner P5000/P500.

Good saw and yes worth fixing, and there are so many choices in parts to fix it,(both used and aftermarket) it would be hard to spend alot doing it.

Btw, it can easily be rebuilt as a Husky 55, if you can get a C&P cheap.

The basic design was still alive, as the Partner P540, the last time I checked, but it originates from the late 1970s.

I have been very happpy with my 51. Plenty of parts on ebay. Just be selective. The muffler is also very easy to mod.
