I know the blue wire on the on/off switch goes to the ignition module.Got caught in the fly wheel, not enough to splice at the module. Can you just run it to ground?
thanks
Ed

If I remember right on my saws, if you ground the blue wire, it will disable the ignition. The blue runs from the coil to the kill switch, and then there is a black wire from the kill switch to ground. The switch connects the two in order to kill the saw.

It's probably not real safe to run the saw without a kill switch anyway.

You can get more wire cheap from a hardware store.

our saw (242xp) at construction site hasnt got kill-swith for years... just pull the choke and it dies...

I would imagine that for the few pennies the wire would cost at a hardware store, I would vote for replacing it the correct way...
