Before going to the trouble of knuckle-busting off the clutches, I was wondering if anyone knows if the rim sprockets for the 395xp and 3120xp are interchangable.

Reason I'm wondering, is because I bought a 42" bar and rip chain in 3/8 originally for the 395, along with a few extra 7 tooth sprockets, for milling applications. After pondering some time about power limitations, I acquired a 3120 and would like to use that bar and chain on that. Currently, the 3120 is equipped with I believe an 8 tooth, .404. I imagine a 8 tooth 3/8 would be more appropriate, but was wondering if my spare sprockets would fit.

The same, oregon large spline.

What he said.

The 3120 is a great milling saw. Very civilized too. My 066 has had the muffler opened up "a bit" and isn't very civilized. Enjoy it, I know I do mine....when I get to use it.

Only a chainsaw miller would ponder the "power limitations" of a 100cc class saw.

Great. Good to know. Thank you. I'm looking forward to slabbing with that monster in the near future.

Well thank ya. As a recent member of the Log Home Builders Association, chainsaws (and other related log handling equipment) have become a pretty important subject for me. AS is an incredible source of information, and I'm grateful this forum is available to the public. I'll probably be mostly a reader rather than a writer, as it looks like most folks here know far, far, more than myself.

Many thanks!
