im wondering how well the husky studs that go into the orange rubber boots they sell work? they dont look very long or sharp, does anyone have any experience on how well they work?

Im on my 3rd set. I like them a lot. you can order a longer stud they call it the redwood calk. i personally run the standard ones and usually get about 2yrs. from a pair. but i only wear them on those wet days or during the long winters we get here in the northeast.

Them thar are the boots but i get my calks from Baileys. I may be wrong but i think there are two styles ones with just rubber lugs and ones that are smooth with just calks, thoes are the ones i have used. Viking also makes a pritty good boot that are a lot like the huskys.

How long they last depends on things like, is it rocky ground? Do you walk on roads with them--I do. I change the heel and toe ones more frequently than the arch located ones. The golf shoe calks are inexpensive so I don't worry, I just change them when dulled. Much better than falling down and getting banged up.

dont walk roads much or at all, ive already got the husky boots so im not going to but a new pair, im about ready to switch over to the husky pair of boots from my labonvilles because its getting colder and wetter and the leather boots arent as water resistant or as warm in the winter as the rubbers. im just looking into getting them after i slipped and fell down a hill with a saw in my hands, luckily i was headed into the woods and it wasnt on.

I have two pair of rubber boots ,the oldest pair are studded with automotive tire studs , the second pair with husky studs . Both have served me well and both have had some pop out but the auto studs are larger and I may not be able to restud because of the rubber being ripped , the smaller ones should not be an issue .
I am going to try screw in studs next time but I will continue to use studs of any kind all year round because the difference in traction is worth it to me .
