Hi. I have a husky 257. Does anyone have any info on what parts are inter-changeable between the 257 husky and 357 husky eg. bars, chains and drive sprockets.

sorry to say this but 257 and the 357 should not be on the same page. It is not fair to the 357.

The 257 is a smaller version of the 272, it has a pro-style cylinder with closed transfer loops but that is where the differences end. One thick ring.

The 357 has a full circle crank ( one of only three ever in a production saw? ) and a lot more aggressive porting than the 257. The 357 also comes with a superior carburetor with larger valve jetting and main jetting, even though it has limiter cap style adjustments. Two thinner rings and a better piston.

not one single part is enter changeable two totally diffrent saws,
I have 2 - 257, and one 357

i have had my 357 fo a year now,and only now am i starting to warm up to it, a great saw don't get me worng, one thing i really dislike about the saw is that the trigger does not slide back in to the handle all the way, it's a small thing but this is my main ground saw and after useing 257 for a good 8-9 years you get used to it .

And allso the 257 is alot more torque than its new brother, but i guess that can be fixed by getting it tuned,

that 257 is a indestuctable little saw and when i got mine the price was excellent, you could not bet that combo.l

awmart
play safe
