OK, so yes this is a really old saw but still runs very strong and the bar needs replacing. The bar on it is Oregon and numbers are barely legible but what I can read is .050 gauge/ 13 / .325 pitch. Could this be a 13" bar? Other numbers are 1 OLO 095 SV 31.362 but those are really not that clear so they are close (as in handgrenades and horseshoes😳). Is this considered a small mount bar? I have a few chains but am not necessarily married to a 13" bar length. Can anyone lead me to the correct bar please not to exceed 14"?
This saw runs so well I would really like to keep using it for small limbing projects..
Thanks. !!

I would guess it's a K095 mount. I would put a 16" on it if it were mine. You can count the drivers on the chain to determine what length the bar is. For example a .325 .050 66dl chain fits a 16" bar, 72dl is 18" and 20" takes 78dl. I would guess a 14" to be 60dl but I've never had one so it's just a guess.

I have been using the Windsor Roll Top Mini bars on these 100 series of Husky saws I fixed up. Cheap and work great.

I interpreted this post as discussing the other model 40 from the 1970s that gave rise to 44 and 444. They were regularly 13” saws back in the day whereas the 40 from the mid 1980s you posted was not, at least in the US market. I could be wrong, but that was my guess.

The 44 which superseded the 40 Practica:

Now I wonder which one he really has!

Well, it seems that I led some of y'all down the wrong path, sorry for that. When I checked it again this model 40 is in fact fitted with a 16" -66DL Bar and Chain. Just seemed so short compared to the other saws I have and the 13 number that was listed between the pitch and bar groove specs had me confused! Years ago I was told by a local saw shop to just throw it away as it had hard start when hot issues. " It's a coil he said, and can't get them anymore, you need a new saw". Well, since older saws used to come with a schematic and parts list I referenced the coil and lo and behold I ordered one, put it in it and worked great! A new start/stop switch and clutch and sprocket and it has performed flawlessly ever since😁. I have not visited that saw shop again!

Thanks for everyone's help it is much appreciated!!
