I was cleaning and tuning my saw after it ran rough from being stored for a few years. Nothing fancy just fuel filter etc. Anyways... I am an diot i was running it without a bar but with the clutch cover on and it started smelling. When I went to remove the clutch cover it was stuck on... maybe brake engaged even though I disengaged it? anyways I yanked it off but not it looks like this (see photos). obviously I need a need brake band but I am wondering if I should get a new cloutch cover. if you look at it, it is worn down where the brake band would sit. not sure if there is any tabs that are meant to further hold the brake band in that I broke???

Anyways let me know. i guess the brake band would probably come with the new cover anyways and the price difference was like $15 vs $70IMG_5363 copy.jpgIMG_5364 copy.jpgIMG_5365 copy.jpgIMG_5366 copy.jpg

You definitely tweaked the band, but I don’t think the whole cover needs to be replaced. I’m guessing the cover wasn’t tight enough for the band to actually disengage so it “stuck” to the clutch and got tweaked that way.

thatsgood to hear. it is hard to see on the photos but where the band meets, those ridges they are definately worn down and somewhat angled. I guess my question is how much tol;erance do they have for being so angled? like will a new band do the same thing in matter of months or is it being held firmly
