After spending a way too much money, I've rebuilt a 1100cd Husqvarna. New crank (old one keyway was buggered), piston, rings, bearings. Just got it fired up today.. my first ground up rebuild. Managed to start it, and had it idling nicely, ran for about 10 minutes, then just died. Has no spark at all. even after disconnecting the on/off switch. Has a Femsa CD Electronic coil in it. I guess if I get spark in the morning then maybe it is the coil? do chainsaws behave like automotive coils, as in they do not go when hot? My question is, if it is a crook coil, and I can not get a replacement, would somebody, like a auto sparky be able to repair such a thing? I also have a Husky 480 parts saw. Assuming that coil will not fit. Any suggestions welcome.
Bit frustrating spending about $500 on parts and a few days labouring in the workshop trying to fix it... could be worse i spose... could end up playing golf instead!
