Husqvarna 246 wearing a Gilardoni 241C cast cylinder 44mm open port little screamer. HDA 98 carburetor sporting a 13" Oregon Pro-Lite bar with 2x Oregon #21 .325" .058 chain.
When i received the saw, it was in serious need of some TLC. All rubber mounts were rotted, missing screws or replaced with machine screws, carb would barely let it run and died when revved. Base gasket was home made of paper and exhibited slight air leak. Starter rope was broken and not in proper tension. Top cover had been trimmed (i assume where it had melted?) The handlebar is Husqvarna, but not for this model (see pics for where an extra hole was drilled to fit mounting points on this saw) On the cylinder the exhaust and intake tracts had some grinding that needed to be cleaned up.
I rebuilt the recoil starter, replaced all missing/or non Husqvarna screws with OEM screws, replaced all AV mounts with new OEM, OEM fuel line and filter, new Walbro diaphragms, new OEM mesh filter, new Oregon clutch needle bearing/clutch bell/.325" 7 tooth rim sprocket, new OEM Husqvarna wires. New spark plug, reset coil gap, cleaned up carbon smudges on exhaust side. Piston was cleaned up and reused with a nice 44mm OEM ring. Then pressure and vacuum tested and she blew compression @ 160PSI cold. Ran the saw with 32:1 e-free fuel and she ran and oiled like a champ. I can include the original flocked filter, Walbro HDA carb kit pieces, and OEM sprocket for a few extra dollars if you'd like.
