I got a nice Husqvarna 257 that I believe to be a low hour saw it still has the mill marks on the piston the only blemish on the saw is on the rear handle but it dose not bother the saw in any way everything work's as it should chain brake oiler it has had a muff mod and re tuned I would like to get $250 plus shipping lower 48 only Thanks' for looking.

Hey, you have a nice saw there. I am looking for one for my dad comparable to weight and size of a husky 450. How would this compare

Here are the 257 specs
The 257 is listed at 12lbs and 3.8 hp and the 450 is 11.2 lbs and3.2 hp. I think the 450 might be a homeowned grade saw the 257 has a mag crankcase and can be turned into a 262 with the right parts.
If I had to choose it would be the 257.

Might be talked into a trade on this saw am getting ready building a 372 and need various parts for it or maybe a chain grinder if in good shape let me know what you got we will talk.

If your dad likes the 450 he would love a 257. If the 450 is yours, give it to him and get yourself a 257. It will be a firewood machine. This a nice example to boot.

Its his and he wants something as light and about the same size. He's never had a pro saw so he's a little skeptical on the age but im trying to convince him, he doesn't realize how much better a pro saw is built. I probably should just buy it for him, thanks for the input

Not quite as light but he would probably be happy. It's an upgrade for sure if it's as good as it looks.

This saw would be a huge upgrade over the 450!!! The age isn't an issue at all, as you can tell this one hasn't seen a lot of use. The 2xx pro series saws are tough as nails!

Someone got a good deal. Glad it sold I kept coming back and it just looked better every time. Russ

This sweet saw showed up Saturday. I would like to say thanks to Mike for giving this new member a chance. The saw is in as good or better condition than the pictures show. Can't wait to get it into some wood! rattler362 was a stand-up guy to deal with, shipping was fast, and the PH was really well packaged. Thanks!
