Husky 266 SE (xp?). The saw has been on a Lewis chainsaw winch since new. I purchased it from the original owner. He purchased the winch and the saw together-and it has been that way since the day he bought them. I am looking to move up to a larger saw to run the winch, otherwise I would keep the saw as it does not owe me anything. I just rebuilt the carb. I believe the only items I know that are broke is the band for the brake and the starter recoil cover does have a couple broke out plastic pieces as shown in the pictures. The saw does leave a small puddle of bar oil when it sits. The saw has a high rise cover as it has a K&N filter installed on it. I don't have a compression tester- but the saw will bite your fingers/hand if you don't have a firm grip on it when pulling to start. I am asking $285 OBO. PHO. Paypal only. I will charge buyer exact cost to ship from 59808. (Missoula, MT) Any questions please ask.

Let's see. You joined yesterday, you've made 2 post now, that have contributed nothing to the content of the forum, you didnt even put where you were from in your profile, and now you want a rushed sale. I'm not thinking things are looking good for that. Why dont you hang around 6 months, make 50 good posts and try again.

Red Elm- I appreciate the note. I have a family and other interests other than chainsaws-just like many on this site. You are correct that I am new here. I enjoy this site and have learned an immense amount of information on this site. I have "contributed nothing" due to my lack of experience with working on old saws and feel as though my knowledge would not be very entertaining/helpful. I am not trying to pull a fast-one on anyone. I just figured I would throw my old saw on here and give it a shot. I also thought that by selling something on here i would gain some mutual friends and build some trust- I'm not out to "get" anybody. Just a new guy in town. Thanks for the welcome note. I apologize if I'm not up to your standards of posting something for sale on the site. I just thought I would give it a try. I have never been a member on a site such as this and have much to learn. If others feel the way you do I hope they will let me know. For future reference, I will make sure that as a member of AS I will send a kind PM and maybe give a few hints how things are done on the site. Out of respect for my elders I will leave it at that. If my saw does not sell, not a problem. I will cut with it and enjoy the site.

Dang man.....Easy on the new guy. I am by no means a "veteran" here and have not contributed a real wealth of information but have bought and sold quite a bit and made some good friends. I don't expect his saw to fly off the shelf here but a guy can hope cant he?

Lostintrees, so do you mean to tell me that just because you haven't been a registered member for awhile or made several posts, that you CAN be an honest, trustworthy seller? No way!

I was trying to make a point, I APOLOGIZE that it was at your expense. There have been some disreputable people try to sell saws lately by just signing up out of nowhere and trying to fleece members. One idea to remedy this is to require that someone be a registered member for a certain length of time or meet a post minimum before being allowed to sell. I AM NOT saying that this should be the rule or not, but in this case someone that is legit and has been reading the forum for some time would have been eliminated from selling. Tough call, I'm just glad it's the administrators that have to make that call and not me.

I appreciate your politeness in responding to a unpolite post, you have my respect. And Yes, welcome to AS. We do have our differences from time to time, but it Is a good place to hang out.

You probably have more to contribute than you think.
