I dont know if this will help any or not, but Cutters Choice sells cylinders and pistons new for the 272 for around $129.95. Just trying to help.

i also am looking for a cylinder for a 272
I only see 3 kits for Husqvarnas on CuttersChoice and none of those are for the 272.
can you provide a link to the 272 kits?

I was looking in the catalog, not on the webpage, but I'll provide an item number for you.
Its item 44156 which is the whole assembly, piston, rings cylinder, wrist pin the works.

44156 is a husky 501 65 85 71
it is a 268 cylinder kit
it will fit and work but you wind up with a smaller displacement saw
It is deceptive of CC to sell it as a 272 cylinder
