hi all yrs ago I had a 141 I admit it cut ok.I'm looking for a saw to limb with.
How would the the 350 cut compared to the 141?Also heard the 141 was made by poulan.is the 350 as well or is it all Husky. For the money around 300.00 just feel husky has advantage on Stihl would appreciate any feedback

i have a 141 and i love it.no problems.

i know three people with 350s and they are all blown up.seems odd to me.i won't be buying one.

350 is all husky saw, while 141 is poulan.... IMO the 350 is best saw in that price/cc class....

I agree + ....

.....the 141 is replaced by the 142, and the power rating went down notisably becase of EPA-imposed restrictions. It will soon be replaced with the 240......

If you can afford the difference you might want to get a 353 instead of the 350 you will have a more durable saw, the 353 has a metal crank case the 350 crank case is plastic the 353 is only about 1/2 lb heavier and it does have a little more power....

What?

Good advice as well. The 346 has a little less displacement and almost the same HP output has the 350 and both are Swede built. I reject the 141 on principle alone!

Since when did AS allow a member with "principles" on this site?:hmm3grin2orange:

This is really not possible, regardless of what the power ratings may say. same P & C, same carb, and the 353 has the cat muffler. If anything, the 350 should be quicker. Of course they couldn't print that, could they?

My 353s do not have a cat mufflers and they do run better then the 350s we have in use here.
same bar and chains, Unless Husky changed something lately the 353 is a lot better saw for a few more dollars.

I have a Jonyred 2150. From what I'm told, its the same as a 350. Its a good firewood cutter for me, but I got to demo a 2152 Johnyred with a better chain on it than mine, and I new right away I should have spent the extra dough on the better saw. I'm assuming that the 2152 is the same as a 353.

surprise!!!

I thought the same thing, the newer 350's do have the same carb muffler and cylinder but guess what the stock piston is domed. which of course would give a little less compression with the same port timing. So to get the same power buy a $30 aftermarket piston for the 353 which will be flat topped and boom your up on power.

Reject a saw on Principle or Principal?

Hello...I have a 141 with the bad muffler. It would not cut with my old 36...welcome to the wonderful world of EPA. The muffler was salvaged with some serious drill work. It does not smell like it is starting on fire anymore. It is just a bit louder but it has alot more power and has a chance to live for awhile. It is a Husky design and is built in the USA at a Poulan factory. I like it alot better now. Just do a search and you will see what I used to make mine a real runner...for its size and displacement that is.

That is right, except for handlebar angles, and minor details.

:help: The 353 is still made without the cat muffler - they just aren't sold everywhere......:biggrinbounce2:

I "allways" wondered what they did to the 353 engine, to "detune" it .1 kW for the latest 350 EPA. Surely they must have done something, to gain EPA "points" vs the original (smaller) engine of the 350....

for some reason it will not let me edit my post but I meant to say the piston is dished not domed. I read that the 261 had the same thing done to it to detune it. I don't mind like I said it is really an easy and cheap fix.

I honestly don't think the plastic crankcase is as big of a problem as everyone states.

oh and let me show you a vid of one before and after getting tune up.
this one had the old 49 cc motor like the 2149 and 351.

If so, it will not be the first time that the replacement parts are listed for two models with different stock parts. They skip the one for the lesser model in the spare parts inventory, to simplify logistics....;)
