Husqvarna 394XP project. Lots of potential, I think you could have a decent good running saw for not a whole lot of investment. Here goes...
I got this saw on trade, if I needed another saw this size I wouldn't hesitate to keep it. It is going to need some attention. Cylinder has no broken fins, looks pretty nice. Has a pit under the exhaust port. I would smooth it out and run it, I took a picture of it- looks a little worse in pic than it does in person. Cylinder appears to be a lean seize that the previous owner did a real nice job cleaning up. Brand new Golf piston, rings, and clips included in the price. You might be able to have a decent runner, with a good going over and piston install- you may have more into it I don't know. You will need your own base gasket, or sealant of your choice.
Bearings are nice and tight, nothing out of order that I can tell, but may need replaced (turning by hand they don't seem quite as quiet as I think they could be, but I could be imagining things). I think worst case scenario on this saw, is replacing the bearings and seals..
There is a chunk out of the lower clutch cover, very usable but definitely worth mentioning. A few missing bolts (one on exhaust, one on exhaust bracket, one on recoil I have some extras I tossed in that maybe you can use). Inside bucking spike mount needs tapped, spike is included. I cant find intake grommet, but will look. I know that they can be had on the cheap.
Saw could use a little more cleaning up, especially around the airbox- but honestly, isn't too bad of a looker IMO. I think it would make someone a nice saw, especially if you are looking for something to port.
Air filter cover has some cracking, a little ugly but functional.
I think this saw is well worth my asking price, but if you don't make me an offer via conversation. Would be willing to trade (Dolmar 421 cough cough) but cash preferred.
