GEEZ!! I can't even order them yet and they're on E-bay????? Where is the seller located? The word I got was that these new models are supposed to be available in about another month.
445 replacing the 345 and 450 replacing the 350. Weight gain is supposed to be slight, compared to what we've seen on the other X-torque models. Prices are supposed to be about $10 more than the saws they replace.
Some speculation at this early hour: These are the replacements for the 345/350 homeowner saws. Will there be an XP version to replace the 346 or the 353 sometime in the future?????? Wouldn't a 452XP that shames the Dolmar 5100 be kind of nice?
Again, this is complete speculation. I have heard nothing about an XP version, and I've been told that the 346 is sticking around next year. But at some point, you have to figure that the 346 will be replaced, right?

The new 346 has been depicted, the (new?) name, however, is still up for speculation...
I did see that thread. But that is still a 300 series, non X-torque saw. The change is in part due to the fact that there is a different EPA classification for saws above 50CC, so this is a way to buy some time and keep the saw around. (A good thing IMO) If we get a little extra power with the added displacement, that's a bonus.
The 50CC deal was explained to me by the Jonsered service manager, and that is why the 2149/2150 and Husky 350 were changed a couple of years ago. The 2150/350 use the same cylinder as the 2152/353, but the plastic saws have a dished piston to lower the compression ratio a bit to reduce stress on the crankcase. It was also felt that the extra heat generated by the cat mufflers wouldn't be a good idea for the plastic crankcase either. So, that is why they have appeared only on the 2152/353 and 346XP.
From the 445 pics, I see that the saw has the top cover clips, that were always considered to be a feature found only on "pro" saws. (they aren't on the 455/460). I also don't know if the 445/450 is a plastic crankcase saw or not. (I can find out). If it is, then any pro versions of this chassis will have to wait until a metal case version is developed. I don't think the market is ready to accept a "plastic pro" !
Any of you bidding on this?
Nope, just hoping somebody here is so we can get a report on it
One thing I notice is the white strip just behind the gas cap, is that a sight window for fuel level?
That was my guess also, when I saw it, but I don't really know......
