I actually bought one of these saws about a month ago and I love it, I was just wanting to see if anybody else has ran one and their thoughts about it, it has a 18" bar and .325 .050 chain, decomp valve(i've never used) and x-torq whatever that is

ran mine today cutting up a green 30" black willow, i like the saw a lot. with a good sharp chain, the saw will cut. a lot of guys on here don't like it...becuse it is not a "PRO" model. but i am not a saw snob

I am not a pro anyway- lol! I have always had used stihls and I love them, when the last one I had got stolen I used my wife's card(limited funds) to go and purchase the 445 at lowe's with a 3 yr warranty, I would have rather went to a dealer but this was conveinient at the time.

Any feedback on this saw? I'm looking at getting one too.

I bought one from Lowe's about a month ago. I liked the way it cut and the balance, but it leaked too much bar & chain oil. Every saw I've ever had leaked some, but this one was excessive. Left it sitting on a piece of pasteboard and a couple days later I went out to get it. There was a puddle underneath it. The pasteboard wouldn't even absorb it all. Unfortunately the amount of b&c oil is not adjustable. Took it back for a refund. Went to Amick's a couple days later and bought a Dolmar PS-5100S. Love it! A lot more saw than the 445. Also bought an Echo CS-400 on Ebay. It's a good running little saw and you can find them new on Ebay for under $220.

Not a pro, just a homeowner

I got a Husky 445 for fathers day. Cuts great. I like it. So far, mine does not leak any oil at all that I can tell. I use the decomp all the time out in the woods since it means I never jerk the saw around inadvertently.
PROS of the 445
-Excellent air filtration.
-Excellent fuel economy
-Lightweight
-Very effective anti-vibe
-Extremely easy and reliable starting; 2-3 pulls always. Pleasantly surprising.
-I like the decompression valve
-I like the view-able fuel indicator
-Great for limbing, other small stuff.

CONS:
-For a few $$$ more, you could get more saw. If, like me, your ONLY option is Lowe's (no dealers) they've lowered the price of a 455 to $379. 55cc instead of 46cc. More hp. If you've got a Stihl dealer nearby, you could get a 029 for about that same price.
-It sucks that there's only one bar nut! This is cheap-looking, makes me mad.

Try to buy from a dealer if you can. That said, the 445 has some nice features for $299 IMHO. I like mine.

How does the Husky 445 compare to the 440? From what I can tell:
1. 445 does not have tool less chain tensioner.
2. 440 has only 41 cc or 2.4 hp while the 445 has 45 cc or 2.7 hp.

Does the engine size make much of a difference in performance?

They don't offer the 440 here - I believe that indicate something.......:givebeer:

I went out and got the Husqvarna 445 today. Came with an 18" bar, case, extra chain, dvd and hat. So far, I really like it. It's lightweight, has low vibes, very easy to start, good power, fuel efficient and a real nice air filteration system. It's not a Husqvarna 353 or Husqvarna 346XP but for my needs (3-4 times per year, maybe 8 hours/year on the saw), it's fine. Should last a long time.

My future son in law has one and he loves it. I thought the one nut thing for the bar was gonna be an issue but so far it has givin him no problems at all.
It's WAY better on gas than my 55.

Some of the guys on here can be down right brutal when it comes to non "pro" saws.
When I first started I had a Husky 350 and it wasn't a poplur saw at the time. Then a few guys on here started to praise them and they became "Huskie's most underrated saw". Now the 350 is a good saw to have as before it was a piece of crap.
When it comes down to it if a saw makes the owner happy than it's a good saw regardless of it's pro or non pro rating.
Just my 2 cent.

It still depends on who you ask - but it sure is better than a MS250! :)

I have cut close to 350 true cords with mine. 2010 is the year. Have a Oregon commercial 18" bar with a Stihl aggressive chain. In 3.5 years replaced sprocket twice throttle cable broke once and replacing carb now. Not the fastest saw but it will cut anything 3' or less. Locust, hickory, old old white oak anything. Very reliable saw. That's MHO. Never had one issue with one bar but. Very smooth with very little vibration
