Hi everybody!
Will need some help about this project
I'm rebuilding a 50. Recently I manage to find an original Jonsered 490 closed port cylinder in good condition (after cleaning).
The original Jonsered piston is way out so I purchased a Meteor 246XP piston that fits nice.
I needed to open pin bosses as Husqvarna 50 connecting rod end is wider.
I tried the cylinder and new piston without base gasket to check timing and everything seems perfect!
When piston in BDC position, top of the piston aligned with exhaust lower end and upper transfers also.
The only issue is that squish is quite big, looks like more of 1mm.
I'd like to machining the cylinder bottom to gain this 1mm but ain't got the right tools to make the upper transfers aligned again..
Only Dremel and cutting burrs.
Any suggestions on porting the cylinder? Higher RPM would be nice

This would be a "race-project" saw, not a everyday firewood one.

Many thanks
