Ok so I recently got a husky 575xp with the clutch and oil pump torn out of it. The previous owner said it quit oiling so he took it apart and never got replacement parts and put it back together. The plastic pinion gear that drives the oil pump gear was shot so I order a new one, part number 537 20 78 which should be for the saw. I got the part, put it in the oil pump which was bolted down, then screwed down the clutch, which is where my problem starts. The clutch screws down so far onto the crank that it bottoms out against that plastic pinion gear. So now whenever the engine is turning, my oiler is turning (because of the clutch) and so is my clutch drum. They all are kind of bound together with that clutch being bottomed out against the plastic pinion gear. It therefore will also kill the engine if I engage the chain brake. I'm trying to figure out where the problem lies. The oil pump is part number 503 5214. I can't find a number on the clutch but it looks correct to me by looking at parts online. I thought at first maybe an incorrect part was on the saw. Does anyone know where the problem lies? I've not worked on Huskys before so it's kind of a new ballgame.
