husqvarna model 61

I just recieved a husqvarna model 61 from a friend and i was wondering how to figure out what year it is. The serial number is 5385949 and it has a grey top cover. Any information would help, thanks.

If the serial tag is silver, then it is a 1985.
If the serial tag is black, then it is a 1995 with an old cover on it.

Does anyone know what the fuel mix ratio that should be used in the husqvarna model 61? I don't want to put 50:1 in it until i am sure because it is a older saw. It might be 40:1 or something different.

50:1 is right, if you use a good synth oil and good fuel.

Year of Manufacture Husky 61?

Hello,

I have a Husky 61 SN 6055836, silver tag.
When looking for parts the year of manufacture seems to be important. I don't see a year in the owner's manual, but the manual is dated 9-85. So I am guessing 85 or 86.
Would it be possible for someone to look the SN up and let me know what year it was made?
