I am looking for a skidloader for property work and firewood work. I found a Hydramac Series III for what seems like a reasonable price. I have not heard much about them, but it seems like a clean unit. Anybody have one or have some knowledge of them? Thanks

Way back in the day I ran a few of them. They are tough machines, somewhat crude even by the standards 20 years ago. Their chief claim to fame was gear driven final drives as opposed to a chain case. Not really even sure this was an improvement. Parts might be very tough to get, I would not pay much for one. My money would go to a machine supported by a manufacturer, currently making skid steers.

They were manufactured in northern MN (Thief River falls?) and used Isuzu engines. They seem to hold their value well. Hackert Sales in IA still supports the Hydramac pretty well. They are good people to deal with.

Thanks for the input guys, maybe I will look around a little more before pulling the trigger.I ve been bouncing back and forth between a Skidloader and a bucket tractor it's not going to see a ton of use so I am trying to stay on the cheap end. It would be nice to have both but not in the cards at the present time.
