Hi everyone, I have a homemade firewood processor and recently the hydraulic motor that runs the bar started leaking oil out the seal. The motor came off a forklift originally.
I can buy the same motor for $300 plus shipping but I was not sure if there was any other options out there.
Also, let me know if any other information is needed.
Please see my pictures and let me know your thoughts, thank you
The motor was doing a sufficient job at running the bar prior to leaking.

Is there a case drain port? The back pressure on the outlet side of the motor going back through a control valve could exceed the allowable back pressure on the seal. its original use it might’ve had a case drain or it might’ve had minimal restriction on the outlet as used on the fork truck.

I am surprised that motor and the size of your gas engine is driving the saw. Don't know how long its worked but like Kevin said make sure the return is going back to the tank with no restrictions. Hyd motors don't like back pressure. You may be able to get a kit for the motor or take it apart see and what it looks like for wear and maybe can match the seal and just replace it.
