A craftsman that is basically a Poulan XXV Deluxe...

Like brand spanking new, looks like it was used a couple time. It sat up and all the fuel line rotted off, customer decided to replace the whole saw...

Then a very nice Poulan 3450, and a nice 2450.

The 2450 was under water.

I broke it free, got excellent spark, and excellent compression, carb seems to work, but I think I knocked it off time when I twisted the flywheel to Free up the piston...Ill pop the flywheel, and check the timing.

3450 needs the carb rebuilt.

All have good bars, and sharp chains!

I paid $0 for all of it...:chainsawguy:

Thats the 3450. Pretty stout 54cc saw.

DO let us know how you like the 3450... I have been looking at picking one up cheap as a projects saw. Looks to me like basically a rebadged 300 series with some top cover mods. Those were pretty good saws judging by what I've read on ths site. I already have a 305 and a Craftsman 3.3, which is essentially a 300-series Poulan also. Both run but have scored pistons, so there are waiting for attention.

I'm REALLY interested to see if anyone knows where to get rings and pistons and such for these oldie-but-goodie Poulans.

Here's where I got the parts to rebuild my 3450 - http://www.ordertree.com/poulan

BTW, the 3450 was a pretty good saw. There is not a lot of quality in the piston / cylinder, they are just plain aluminum with only one ring. But for a 54 cc saw it runs very strong, and does a good job pulling the stock 20 inch bar. I still cut with mine from time to time.

Hmmm... I can get a 3450 for $20 in very nice shape. It has good compression but the ignition lead to the plug is chewed.. no spark. I'm guessing that one of my other saws may be able to act as a parts donor.
