Wandering through Ace hardware dealer who also sells Stihl saws. Saw this hanging on the wall:

hookeroon_zpsc2qk1ezf.jpg

It followed me home. $70 with tax. I had been wanting a second one anyhow. If I was at the woodpile the hookeroon i had would be on the truck and vice versa. It is 30", I would prefer 36" Price a bit high but one must pay for orange paint and Stihl stickers - they do make the tools work better.

I am pretty sure that is a Logrite and I have heard good things about them. I have the same thing going with my Logrite/Stihl cant hook, first aluminum handled tool for me and it is going good. We will need a review. LOL

Yep, it looks exactly like a logRite in Stihl dress. Haven't tried it yet, dunno why as I was jusdt out there doign some stacking and it was in the cart.

As I recall from some time back the Logrite assumptions are correct. I have had mine for a number of years know and use it regularly. Handy for unloading the truck or trailer, giving you that extra reach. Can also toss rounds or splits in a pile from off the ground and never bend over. Sure saves the back.

I've got two in Logrite blue, they are great.

I have another one which is no name knock off and is about as big around as racquetball, does not fit the hand well.

Maybe one of these days I'll have to get me one. But at $70 bucks, maybe I'll make one instead. The garden rake isn't the best tool for that job.

Yep, I balked at the high price of one for years, used hoes, rakes, 4 prong weeking tools, etc. One use of a real hookeroon shows what piss poor substitutes all of those things are. I also tried making one of my own various ways, none of them worked. Piece of pipe and a bolt woiuld work but it would be heavy, clumsy and awkward. I did make an 8' one using a closet pole, plumbing fitting and a chunk of 1/2" all-thread - that one works great. Even cut it down to 36" dto replace the logrite I lost off the truck - it worked but not as well as the real deal. I ordered a new logrite a few days later.
