"just got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon, minus third, fourth and fifth toes on right foot. also a large excavation of the bottom tissue between toe pads and heel.

i was undoing chain binders on a crane truck while the operator was setting down the riggers. we were preparing to unload logs taken from a tulip tree on the state capital grounds. at the last binder the rear pad set on my foot. i knew what was happenning and began yelling out. the operator couldn't hear and leveled out the truck. into it for for nearly a minute before it was over.

horrible, but behind me now. healing up from here on.

thanks for all the well wishes"

I am wondering if they might have contributed to the severity of the injury not whether they might have prevented it, though I have heard of such doing so well in excess of their "design load".

Perhaps not in the US, but here it would matter, kiss your compensation goodbye without PPE.
