I have a cracked cover (the one that covers the sprocket spline amongst other things, and it is letting some crud get down in where it shouldn't. It's cracked by the safety shutoff spring. Called stihl for a replacement cover, it's plastic. and they said that they can't match up the number I gave them. Gave me a # for Ron's Saw Shop.

Gosh, looks as though parts may get tough. Maybe I should bid on ebay for some beaters just to have some available items for my 028 Super. Guess they can only be tougher to find as time goes by.

Don't worry Dale, there are lots of 028 parts kicking around. My dealer can still get parts

The 028 has not been a problem to get parts for here yet but who knows what the future will bring.
