I am helping an Amish friend who lost his mill to a fire last week. He had a old circle mill and was cutting lumber for pallets. I know nothing about saw mills, nothing about what to replace his old style milll with that will work best. He plans on cutting just for pallets and is located in New York. Any information would be really appreciated. There is so much mill equipment out there I have no idea what would work best and what to stay away from. Bob

How bad was the fire? If you still have the complete carriage/track blade, shaft. Build a new husk etc.
If your friend doesnt feel like going that route alot of amish fellas here love the swing mills.. For pallet runners/decks you can cut alot of wood. Less maintenence then about any other saw out there. Look one of them up on youtube.
