But I saved myself money... where does that lie on the moral scale?

Same gear as the last time we rolled out and pieced a big cotton wood down as seen here:

Well, to be totally honest my 353 is missing in action! I sent it off to get modded (to be a better bucket saw) and now Im without! After toying with a Crapsmen 55cc saw I went and bought a 16" B&C for the 361. Same weight, SOOOO much more power.
Worked very well as a bucket saw, I was impressed. Its weight was still managable, its performance was excellent. Its fuel economy was appreciated, I don't think we ever had to quit because the saw was out of fuel. Simply topped it off every time we came down.
Our first priority was removing a branch that was suffering from severe rot. It had been pruned, and regrew. As you can tell, the weight of the new mass caused the branch to start to pull away. Its now leaning towards the house...
So we starting peicing the branches down.
Hard to see progress, as its got the other tree in the background.
As you might see, we stopped due to the thunderstorm approaching. Had just a little bit of wind with it.
This is where we pieced the rotten branch down to, and found about a half circle of live wood 3-4" thick at most. The branches extending from this were probably 50-60' tall, (3 of the them) and 6-8" diameter.
