I see these Isuzu and other small crane trucks being used by my peers {chainsaw carvers} in Japan, England, and Canada but cannot find a used one for sale in the United States. It would be great to have a truck with a crane large enough to load both the truck and trailer AND still fit into the driveway. Do small crane trucks exist in the U.S.? I'd like to find one for under $20k. Half that would be perfect :)

For example.

As you may have found out, most boom trucks are larger in the U.S. A friend does have a similar sized Mitsubishi truck with a diesel, but no boom crane on it.

You could make your own with a used F-450/F-550 or similar, I have a similar truck that I have about

If this will do 3 ton, it would fit your needs mounted on the back of a truck, and a reasonable cost. You could always replace the manual winch with a 6,000lb winch.

Yea its an Isuzu FTR and I wouldnt change a thing. I love that the guys and I dont have to lift chunks of wood or logs. All of our removals get to be chipping the crowns and loading 10' logs with the knuckle. Makes for a nice day and easy on the back for sure.
