So once again I've come across what to me would seam a good deal. Owned by a older gentlemen and was his wife's fathers saw originally. A Sachs Dolmar 133 super! Seams the old guy wanted to buy a new farm boss and no longer wanted this unit cuz the chain binds up all the time so straight away I see the problem. Three guesses guys. Anyway I ask what he wants for it and he said he really didnt have a number so I offered $100 and he snapped it up with no hesitation as I was grinning from ear to ear. Never hat a dolmar before any thoughts on this baby. If you look at the pic with side and bottom of saw visible you can see the issue as the rim sprocket is split in two and due to that the chain is shot as well. Beside that the saw is very nice. Fires in two pulls and is running on the third and doesnt miss a beat. Not sure if this unit is common among this brand or not. Pretty sure I made a hella score once again.:msp_w00t:

Sorry to say your great deal is just another door stop. By the way I could use a good door stop.

The ring drives split from being used too long, well past when they need to be replaced. They need replacing when the tie straps start leaving a mark on the outer rim.

Right I see this nonsense in the shop all the time. It would seam the general public has no clue.:bang:

I have seen too many of them myself, never on my own saws however. They are wear n tear items that needs checking and replacing. I recommend a new one every time the chain is replaced.

Used to rent with a 36" bar in a prior incarnation. Nice saw. Jealous. Best I have so far is a couple J'red 2050 with bad P&C and a Craftsman/Poulan that won't run but probably needs fuel lines. Used to take ours home when I needed to take a tree down, even if a shorter bar saw would have been better. Sweet running saws.
