I was once asked by a person what I thought of tree hugging


I said I love trees and have the upmost respect for everything that can be done and made from wood however as to hugging them the only time I would do that is if I was up one and my belt or spurs broke ..............Then I'd really hug a tree :smile2:

Yep, I've done that. Kind of a love/hate hug. One time was climbing an ivy covered pine and that pesky ivy wouldn't let my spike set in deep and I kept spiking the ivy by mistake too. I dropped into my flipline three times on that climb and hated every single time, but was also glad to not fall all the way down too.

I hug trees all the time. It's the easiest way to get the tape around the ones that are between about 13" and 28" DBH. After that it's the ol' stab-grab-and-pull method.
