I am new here, great forum and many great posts.

I am seeking help in identifying an older (much older!) vermeer stump grinder I recently picked up.
It is similar in design/appearance to the old Little David stumper, however the controls and handle are behind the motor/wheel rather then in front.
The motor and frame sit independantly from the axle and tongue and swivel on it when a steadying pin is removed. It's a 15" cutter wheel with 9 pods. 16 horse b/s., belt driven. The sweep is manual as is the depth, via a crank jack on the tongue.

I have sent the pics to Vermeer but haven't heard from them in regards to a model. If anyone can help that would be great.

simular to a vermeer 186 yours musta been the one before it same shape and style but the 186 has and auctuator to dip the cutter wheel.

I also hope your kidding about tasting the rainbow.... sounds alittle weird if you catch where I 'm going.
its a inside joke , but I have to ask are insuating I like to taste gay men? Or are you insinuating that I like gay women ....I don't wanna ass ume I know what your implying , I also think that if all you do is see life through a hole in log then you may have tree tunnel vision .... LOL

Not sure of the model number but I knew a guy in Alabama that had the very same stumper. I had him grind 9 small stumps for me onetime. Looked like a lot of work with that little stumper. I wouldn't want to have to work everyday with it or try to grind anything big. Made me appreciate my little 20 horse self propelled.
