I have a bunch of Stihl ignition modules laying around, and I am trying to figure out which works with which flywheel. I have some Prufrex CDIC style modules, some Bosch 222 modules, some Iida modules. But only a few have the part number stamped on the body. Most don't. Is there a resource to know exactly which module you have? Some have an A or Y etc stamped on the body but it's only identified as a Stihl Iida on the face.

I have the 066/064 (54.2000) Technical Bulletin on flywheel ignition compatability, but even most of those modules don't have the part number stamped on them.

Anyone have any info?

Thanks

Tom

tough one... I've has the same problem and usually go though a box of "known" types to Id them. I do have a phelon cross reference if any of yours have phelon markings.

Tom,

I am sure you already know this but even if they are stamped with a part number it will not be the same as the one in the IPL. I always need modules so a pic would be nice.

Here is an SEM module I have.
That looks like an 042/048.
It is speculation on my part but I would assume that if the magnets on the flywheel line up with the pole pieces of the module,it would work, providing the mounting holes align also.

module

the last one is definitely 42/48. the first is the generic module. the middle looks like an 038 coil with the under flywheel module, but the wire harness would confirm it.

The middle (3 screw) modules, don't have any wiring harnesses left. Just a wire coming out of the back. I have lots of 038 stuff around, so I wouldn't be surprised if these were from the 038 with the trigger unit originally. Anything else they could be used for without the wiring harness?

The first one (Bosch) that you said is "Generic". Does that mean it can be used in place of the 0000 400 1300 IIDA module?

Thanks for the info on the SEM module.
