Dad dropped off an old McCulloch saw the other day. Told me it was purchased in either 1959 or 1960 by my grandfather. I've never actually seen it run, but he did get my curiousity going. I'm having trouble identifying it- can't seem to find any model designation or serial number. Would really like to get a hold of a parts and service manual and put it into working order. Have no intention of making it a working saw- have a good Stihl 032 for that- but it does have certain sentimental value. Any help (where is the model designation/serial number) would be greatly appreciated.

Nice forum

Well, to ID the saw we'll need apicture of it, and/or a description of the saw.

Or you could look at the Chainsaw Collectors Corner, theres tons of listed saws there, I'll give you the web address.

Look for the McCulloch model and see what looks most like yours, you'll be sure to find something that looks like it.

Many old Macs have an id stamped on the bottom of the crankcase. Scrape off all the old crud and you might be in luck.

I got one that I could never find

I am selling this one now. I could never find out what it was. I liked it, kinda unique, but I am slimming down on my "stuff" I keep around.

I looked everywhere on this old dog and could nver find anything except one little marking at the bottom of the cylinder. it says 7511. It would been fun to get fixed and dolled up, but I have so many others I wanna finish first.
