It doesnt mention how much tinkering it takes to keep it running. :laugh:

It requires a complex system of pulleys and cables that run off an old John Deere H that you engage only (let me reiterate ONLY) when the chain is stopped. After it is engaged, you have to unplug the refrigerator and prop the door open and place a pile of cotton fibers inside. You then light the fibers on fire, and then disengage the JD H only (let me reiterate ONLY) when the chain is moving. When the chain is freely spinning on the bar you can throw wood chips near the saw, but make sure not too much. Too much dust could clog the JD H's air filter and the whole works will go to hell.

I recall my father telling stories of how his grandfather had one of those saws. Legend has it he used it to clear a spot deep out in the woods for the still.:jawdrop:

HAHAHA!!!! You know how legends get streched from generation to generation? I expect it was used to clear a spot for the outhouse!! If it could handle it!!
