If you get a 36" bar for your 395XP you have to try it out

Good choice, the 395 doesn't shine till at least a 36 is needed...

I have to admit bucking with a 20" B/C on the 395XP is quite fun. Next purchase will be a 24" .

I'll have to admit......the small bars on large saws make no sense to me when a 7xcc saw would rip that.

I put a 36" Total from the hashed out 32" Oregon on my 394 and it completely wrecked the balance of the saw....for me.

Looks really cool but wrecked the application of a do-all saw for me.

32" Light Bar.....back to all categories is tits as my do all saw.

Ok, but. For my 266XP a 20" is the max, and I need something that can pull a big bar when needed. It makes more sense for me to run a 24 on my 395 than buy another saw.

That makes sense. I have a 28" on one of my 7900's and I find that to be a good compromise for me between big bar and the 18" on my 510.

I will concede that a 3ft bar is darn sexy looking on a 394/395.

Lots of fun with 36" bar on 395. Also fun is a 20" bar on big saw. This was before I had 395 ported. Small saw is 346 with 18 inch bar

Yeah! My go-to noodling saw for 16" rounds is the 441 with a 20" bar. Normally it wears a 32" bar for felling and bucking big Willows that I am clearcutting for a farmer.

The Husky 395 is the only saw that ever cut faster while I was running a Stihl 084 Mag. Both of us had 36" bars mounted. He was running 3/8" skip tooth and I was running 404 full chisel. Later at the GTG I found out that he was also running high octane airplane fuel, but I doubt that made the difference. I think he was taching about 1000 RPM higher. Neither one of us bogged down. He nipped me by about 2 seconds through 36" dia. stock. Great fun.

I've got a 394 with a 32" bar makes me smile on the occasional big wood. Do you have to retune your saw when you go from the longer bar to say a 20-24" bar ?

So why have that skip chain on the 084 @ 36" Was it RM, RS or RSL.
Question being I will get one and I have a 394 that needs the switch wire lengthened to go side by side
