I saw this today for sale (Private party) in a local ad. The saw came with the original gallon of oil he bought with the saw. The jug is almost full. I won't get into the details why he was selling it (personal reasons). The asking price was $100.00. I just gave it to him. The saw is a 1 1/2 years old. The original chain was replaced because the guy didn't like the way it didn't cut (safety kick-back chain). It has never been sharpened according to the seller. It was used to clear some small trees and brush from the backyard of a new house purchase. I "was" in need of a smaller ground limb saw. I really feel like a crook now.

...so does he have any more he wants to get rid of for "personal reasons"? ...how about his ATV or his 4-wheel truck????????

Right place at the right time definitely, assuming it runs... good deal

The saw runs and cuts. I tried it before I bought it. He has no other toys for sale. I already asked him. He already sold his new Miller welder for $500.00 that he paid $800.00 for.

If you ever feel too guilty, I'll give you $125 for it

That should clear your concience quite well I would think.

Don't come to me 5 years from now looking for this kind of a deal.

I just don't exactly know how I would break it to my Super XL that she would be a "back-up" and not "lead".

The 021/210 is a nice lightweight saw. I have had quite a few of them. It should work out well for you. The great thing about them is they are a little over $200 new so if you drop or squish one it was a cheap lesson.

I did the same thing about 6 months ago at a yard sale. Guy had a stihl 090, with a 5 foot bar & like new chain,,,,,,,$125.00 tag on it--said it would only run at full speed--I grabbed it up real quick--saw is like new--needed carb kit. I asked him if he was sure for that price & he said oh yes--he got saw from an estate sale & was making money on it!---I put in carb kit, sold the saw for $800.00 to a local collector...saw appears to only have a few hours on it...actually still had old type of "castor" type oil in the chain oiler tank. Guess this one makes up for the times I have gotten "stung bad" on Ebay!!!

Well, if you gone through "quite a few" saws of the same model, and is a non-pro, it really isn't a very tough saw, is it? :blob2:

The real problem was that they had already bought a new house and moved into it. Now they are selling their belongings and going their seperate ways. That really sucks after going thru all of that. He said it was for the best. I felt sorry for the poor guy. I think I would have used the saw on her, then sold it.

.

Then what would you say is a is a "really tough" small saw. Many would say a Husky 346XP. Well I have had 4 of them also but they are not comparable to the 021. I never said the 021's were wore out. I can honestly say I have never worn a saw out. Will the 021 run 10 hours a day for 4 years; probably not but is that what it was intended to do. I think not. Yes the 021 is a consumer saw but why does that make it a bad saw. I serves it's intended purpose.

Just for the record; I agree that the 210 serves it's intended purpose, and that it is a nice little saw - when used for it's intended purpose. :)

.....just wondered if there was some issue with it, since you had gone through several of them......
