I'm dedicating this thread and this tree to all the tree huggers out there.

Going out on a limb here and saying that tree doesn't like to be touched. :hmm3grin2orange:

The climber in me wants to know if the thorns can support a persons weight. I also think they'd be a real PITA to get a flipline over as you advance.

What in the Hell kind of tree is that??? ...fricken savage!

Ceiba pentandra if my research is right.

They grow in Mexico, northern South America and parts of Africa.

I'm kind of surprised I've never heard of them before, but it seems they are real and are really nasty trees.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...

ok so spill it...what and where???

See my post above.

I'm still learning about them myself. Found the pic early today with no information attached to it. A search on bing.com has tons of information and I've been reading about it in between working on the computer.

Good grief you'd need danger money to fall that ......

I'm thinking I'd take the first one down for free if I could post pictures and video of it here in this thread. I'd finally be able to feel I was even with Randy and Cody in cool points.:D

I'm thinking I'll line the drive to my "castle" with these things and then add some gargoyles to the parapets.

I would just love to introduce my ex wives face to one of those trees . Or to the drum of a 50/48 morbark o O

They are a pretty popular cultivar. Wouldn't mind having a willabybor walliby (can't remember the spelling) pine. Only something like 38 in the wild in some canyon in Australia.
