Just got finished doing an Imidicloprid and Permethrin treatment......to my dog.

It's kinda funny how these two chemicals common in PHC can be okay to use on a mammal for fleas and ticks when packaged as Advantix. Keeps them clear for a month. Does anyone else think this is strange?

What is interesting to me....

We can no longer use Lindane for beetles and borers, but Lindane can be used on a kid with head lice.

Yes lindane was good stuff from what I hear. Never got the chance to use it though, but it's safe enough to put on your skin:dizzy: I know I've caught a little drift of permethrin to the face before. It caused a kinda weird mild Novocaine feeling, kinda disturbing. And then there's Deet which some say you shouldn't apply to your skin, but I've seen it sold in concentrations of almost 100% (deep woods off being about 30%)

Who makes up these rules anyway?

Glad I am not the only one that has felt that disturbing numb skin feeling from permethrin. I thought I was extra sensitive to the stuff.

Both imidicloprid and permethrin are synthetic derivitives from organic based material. As such they are not metabolized by dogs. Try them on a cat though... very different results.
