After paying a mechanic to try and repair my problem with my 272XP, and finding out he didn't actually fix anything, I took the muffler off to see if it was plugged. It was fine. As a last ditch effort, I removed the air filter to see how it would run without it. Well, It ran like a top. Funny thing was, it looked spotless. I called a Husky dealer to order a new filter and he said that there is something about how those nylon screens react with fuel over time and fuses the screen creating a plastic barrier that air cannot flow through. So I ordered the felt filter. Dolmar 7900 is on hold. The End

Good to know. I've heard of similar things happening to people who wash there dirtbike air filters in gas.

Ouch! That turned out to be one expensive air filter. Sorry to hear that happened, but at least you got the puzzle solved.
