The ugly bettys surely have a spot here as well , there's a few that I have seen that are likewise picture worthy

Heres a few cool and one ugly betty View attachment 230589 View attachment 230590 View attachment 230591 View attachment 230592 That white oak was covered completely in burls, that tulip is a the first thing you are greeted by when you enter "TREE CITY USA " I dunno what the #### that guy was smoking when he did that and if you are from this area then you've seen that tree ... And the cuts are more like breaks just an undercut and a run and gun no finish cuts no rhyme nor reason LOL and its a huge tree up on a pedestal

Took my dog for a walk in a park by my house yesterday. Heard some owls hootin back and forth to each other when we first got there, was pretty cool. Haven't heard owls in years. Some pretty massive trees in this park. This beech was probably about 120+. There's bigger trees there but this one was pretty cool

...crazy thing about this beech is there isn't a whole lot holding it up..

I gave a bid on a beech and got it just like that years ago. While talking with ho his dog was running through the trunk. Tree was right next to house and drop was real scary. Had 3 ropes in it and pulled it down an embankment that is his front yard. Fished out what we could and then lowered/rolled my splitter down the hill and split and left the rest. Real shaky climbing the tree to set ropes. It was pre porty and pre big shot/throw line days.

Your pit gonna spend much time there might want to put a hard hat on him :=)

That had to be scary for sure! Haven't come across a beech yet without some sort of hollow cavity in it. Usually bump into raccoons too. Hard to tell from the pic but its also hollowed out the other way and about 10 ft up the trunk. Its basically standing on 4 "legs" Don't even know how one would go about dropping that one, I sure as hell wouldn't climb it.

Lol vet you just gave me a cool idea about my dog and the hardhat, LOL he isn't going to like you for this..

No I suppose he's not gonna be none to happy about you strapping a hard hat on him ....we cut a captain america old school helmet up so that our boxer could ride with us on the go cart when we were kids and goggles and he would whig out whenever he saw them he even ate the goggles in an effort to avoid wearing them

My wife is po'ed at me! Now that this thread is up, when we are out, I keep stopping at places to take pics, LOL. Yesterday I almost put her thu the windshield. Got some good ones tho, when ya look for them, they are everywhere, cool trees and just down right ugliness! I will post later.

Like a damn japanese tourists snapping pics of everything , that hacked up tulip was the same way , I saw it on the horizon put on my brakes and snapped that pic from my dump truck window at 5mph becausee the public transit bus was about to be buried into my ### . Ah that hilarious , I feel ya though I am gonna go behind the Deptford walmart this week and take a pic of the oldest black oak in new jersey found it as a a geocache about 4 years ago there's even a plaque ...

This Maple is down the road from me, impressive only because it keeps hanging on. Took this pic a couple weeks ago and it was getting ready to leaf out. It's in a pasture and been beaten up for who knows how long. The whole bottom is rotted out, didn't want to climb the fence to get the other side but it is competely gone. Loaded with Mistletoe too.

This is a bigger Maple nearby, never seen such huge knots in limbs from the mistletoe!
