Walked into the local Yamaha dealer to get a carb kit for my 660 grizzly so my mechanic could finish her up. Been sitting with a broken oil line for a year. The told me 3 business days on a Friday night and I was kinda bumbed out. So two hours later I was leaving with this new 700 Kodiak. It's a toy/firewood tool is my defense to my loving girlfriend. But she's happy. The grizzly is her dad's anyways and it's only used for plowing snow and her to ride. They wanted 1100$ for a plow for this one. Gusse they don't have the manual lift anymore so you have to buy a winch. But I need ideas for racks to hold firewood. Don't wanna pull my little garden cart with it. Rolls all the time behind the tractors. My ex father in law had home made racks out of shelf brackets and always said five trips to the woods was 100$ (face cord). But I can't remember how the we're mounted. Need ideas. Would like to avoid drilling holes or welding. On the bright side I only have to sell two loads a month for the next 5 years to pay for here....Snapchat-2919107568060059934.jpg

Get yourself a better trailer and use the racks on the ATV to haul saws/misc tools.
I'm thinking about that. But there's some places were a trailer won't work cause of a creek. Not that I was able to every get wood from there before. The loggers crossing washed out long ago to. But I have to scrap are 14 foot boat (father inlaws barn fell in on it) and cut that down to a skinny low profile trailer one day

Get one of those dual axle polar trailers northern sells. They are bad ass. I will post a link

Ran a few loads of rip out down to dump in one of the creeks and stopped to take a pic of the quad and the free trailer I have now. Just needs wider tires. All over the place empty.20150930_182746.jpg

Bungy cords work , I stack both racks to balance the load and if you're handy with metal work make yourself a walking beam trailer .

Awesome choice, I worked at a 3 line (Yam, Kaw, Pol) dealer for 16 years, Yamaha is the most reliable machine out there, good luck with her.

I had to laugh at your posting, I went in to the Polaris dealer looking for a deal on a battery for the wives 500 and ended up going home with a new 850 SP.. I used the 800 to pull a trailer or skid out the logs to a clearing and the 500 pulled the splitter. You'll really like the 700 Yam for it's power and the ease of getting in to the woods.

I'm looking at a 2000 Kodiak with a plow and winch tomorrow. Really looking forward to having a wheeler again.
We had a 03 450 kodiak before, good little quad. The new kodiak is basically a grizzly in working clothes.

Yeah my wife made the 660 hers now. Can definitely feel the difference from the carbureted 660 to the fuel injection 700.
I tried a buddy's Bombardier 800 last winter. Those things are obnoxiously powerful!
I can imagine. Use to plow and gather wood at my exs house with a 500 bombardier I think it was. Lots of power, and the step though seat was nice.

That's starting to look like a nice pile of wood. Kind'a funny how all of them little loads add up to a nice pile of wood in no time. When I started out, I had a little old trailer and in the winter time I used an old car hood to pull wood. I heated our house for several years that was. Split everything with a double blade axe also. Those are some nice looking logs.
