I hear so much about kids not wanting to work. Here's an amusing anecdote from last night.

I get called every year about this time to drive the pickup pulling the hay trailer while my good friends buck bales onto it. They often hire a kid to help.
Yesterday was warm, upper 70s or maybe 80s. I go out after work. There's a small built teenage boy helping and he's looking like he's hurting already. My friend says he doesn't think the kid will last much longer.

I take over the driving, we fill the trailer and head to the barn. Along comes a car with a girl who was willing to work. I tell my friend to watch, I bet the boy will perk up and continue to work.

Not only does he perk up, he starts working without being told what to do so much, and taking charge. The girl was one heck of a worker, and running to the next bale, he started doing that too. He lasted the 2 more hours.

A logger told me a similar tale about his daughter integrating a tree thinning crew. Although in that case acreage cut increased tremendously as the guys tried to outdo her and her friend. I guess the crew vastly exceeded their target that year.

Heck, the only reason I get my lardbutt off the couch and mow the lawn is to demonstrate my value to my wife. And of course to play with the dogs.

Ms P please never discuss the topic again. If more women happen to read this they will know they dominate the world. This is a very big secret us manly men don't want let out.

Yeah, So we always try to impress the ladies. Whats new.
By the way they only have as much power as you give them. The world is full of women (There are more of them than us). If one doesn't act right get rid of her and get another.

the only productivity study I've heard is male vs. female equipment operators- women were equally productive but easier on equipment so lower overall operating cost.

Dudes dig chicks, no two ways about it.
