For any one that doesn't know; recently the death and injuries threads have been decidedly placed in their own place.
i understand this was done to aid research and rather than try to decide which of the existing forums to put saw injuries in etc. so that everyone sees them, instead of just frequenters to one particular forum/area of the site. This is made to raise awareness not lower it, personally i think it will only yield that for me if i make the habit to check it as part of coming here.

Worker Injuries and Death Pages

I think the only people who won't see the new forum are the saw freaks who have bookmarked the saw forum page and do not think of this site as anything other than the saw forum. I think the rest of us enter from the main page and will see the bright yellow check next to the forum title indicating new posts.

I am going to change my opinion on the new forum idea. I think it will work out just fine. Thanks, JPS, for not gutting the existing climber's forum by moving half the threads to the new forum! I think it will grow naturally on it's own.

Statistics

Awareness of the realities of our work is not as wide spread as it should be. It is good to see a place for arborists to keep this a little closer to the heart.

Those that want to delve a little (or a lot) deeper should check out

This US Dept of Labor site provides statistics in addition to a wealth of technical data.
