I bought a 1992 GMC C7500 with an Altec LRIII. I came with the pony motor removed. I'm getting ready to bench test it then install. Anyone have any pictures of how it is installed in the truck? Hopefully with some wiring details.

Nobody has an old Asplundh truck with a pony motor they could snap a quick picture of the installed Kubota? I can't be the only one poor enough to not afford a shiny new elevator

The pony motor is to start the truck engine? What engine does it have?

I have an 83 7000 dump truck GMC with a 427 and it's just electric start. My service book makes no mention of a pony motor. I haven't seen one used on anything built in the last 40+ years actually.

is this guy serious?

Yes I am. I used to work on Heavy Equipment and trucks for a living, you might want to explain what this "pony motor" is if not used as the correct term.

Pony Motor - a small motor, usually gasoline, that gets the larger main engine started.

a pony motor on a bucket truck is a small fuel efficient motor used to power the hydraulic boom while the truck is staged to work so the large less fuel efficient motor which powers the truck to drive need not be run while parked. I apologize for coming across rude but I assume everyone on here is an arborist and is familiar with the equipment commonly used.

I don't do pruning work, just felling (with a feller buncher) so I've never messed with a bucket truck.
I guess I'm actually logging where I think many of you guys aren't so much?

I wasn't too sure what he was needing help with, that's why I asked. I have a similar truck so I thought I could help.
