For $500,000 liability for my Lawn Care & Tree Care, and to cover $30,000 in equipment it's just over $1500/year, which is reasonable to me. The lawn business is seperate from trees, so...the lawn side is $124/year.
Lowest quote I have ever recieved for commercial tree care insurance was $1600 for the year. That's only $1,000,000 in general liability. No comp, no equipment, no nothing.
try acord.I believe it is less than 1000$ a year for $100,000 of coverage Loyd's of London underwrites them, maybe you should check out the brits talking about brit stuff.
I may be the ugly beatle, but at least I'm a beatle!
Since I'm looking to start a business in the future, do the ins. companies give discounts for any safety classes you take, or make your employees take? Such as, any FISTA courses, Arbormaster, GOL, others? I know in the motorcycle industry they give discounts for motorcycle safety foundation classes. Thanks.
Supposedly my insurance lady is waiting on an exact quote from the Hartford, but for just 1 mil of general liability for commercial tree care, she's telling me that the premium will be >$3,000 for the year. I can't wait to find out what the comp policy is going to run me.
Check out Erie insurance, they insured me in VA when no other smaller company would issue a policy here after Hurricane Isabel a few years ago. They were a lot cheaper than the Hartford also.

I just checked on the Erie website, their closest agent was up in Rochester. I think I'd like to be within a 45 minute ride of them if at all possible. Thanks for the suggestion though.
